We believe that the mission field is part of our daily lives – our homes, our back yards, the neighborhoods that surround us, and our schools and workplaces.

We support ministries in our community and in our world through these organizations:

The Lamb Center is a daytime drop-in shelter for individuals (our guests) who are experiencing homelessness in Fairfax, Virginia. We provide breakfast, lunch, showers, laundry service, Bible studies, case management, employment opportunities, housing and job counseling, AA meetings, small group opportunities, nurse practitioner services, a dental clinic, and much more.

ASSIST Pregnancy Center is a Christ-centered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to encourage, educate, and empower women and men to make life-giving decisions for themselves and their unborn children. Through the provision of medical services to confirm and date pregnancy, pregnancy options counseling, and practical assistance, Assist comes alongside abortion-vulnerable individuals to affirm life and share the hope found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The purpose of Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO), Inc. is to assist people in need in our community, those who suffer the effects of long-term poverty as well as those who are experiencing an emergency financial need. To that end, we provide food and financial assistance to help families or individuals through a crisis.  We offer access to donated clothing, school supplies, and household goods.

Greater Fairfax South FCA serves the students and coaches at our local high schools and middle schools through campus huddles, camps, and more.  We provide direct support to Steve Able, Regional Director.

We provide direct support for Ian and Emma Cox, who are on the D.C. Staff, serving regional college campuses in the Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland area.

We provide direct support for David Buschman, Baptist Chaplain at Princeton University.

David also serves as Director of Athletes in Action, an international, interdenominational Christian fellowship open to all and geared toward college athletes.

NOVA RAFT is a grassroots coalition of neighbors committed to supporting newly arrived Afghan families as they join our Northern Virginia community.  Since August 2021, RAFT has collected donated household goods, furniture and electronics, raised money for household essentials, recruited volunteers, and successfully set up 300 new homes.

Energizing churches to carry out their God-given mission

One of the major goals of NorthStar is to equip churches with the resources needed for them to have a relevant and effective ministry in the world.  NorthStar supports churches in the Northern Virginia area.

South Run Baptist Church also contributes financially to BGAV (Baptist General Assembly of Virginia), which supports missionaries, both locally and overseas, as well as providing disaster relief around the world.
