Saratoga Elementary School
We believe that local schools are the heartbeat of our community. Therefore, having a viable presence on a local campus is integral to fulfilling our calling to share the good news with our local community. South Run Baptist Church has a formal partnership with Saratoga Elementary School, which is one of the largest and most disadvantaged schools in our area. There we provide mentors for many at-risk children in one-on-one relationships, as well as sponsor several other ministries among children and adults. There are many ways that you can participate in programs that engage this school with the transformative love of Jesus Christ.
Good News Club
South Run hosts a weekly after-school activity in conjunction with Child Evangelism Fellowship. We lead the children in songs, Scripture memory, stories, games, and other activities. The goal of the club is to share the Gospel with the students and disciple them in Christian living.
ACE (After-Class Enrichment)
“After-Class Enrichment” (ACE) is an opportunity that provides Saratoga students in grades 1-4 with positive experiences while developing relationships with South Run Baptist’s middle schoolers and high schoolers. Good character traits are modeled to these students through crafts, exercise, games and lots of conversation. ACE meets Tuesday afternoons from 4-5:15 pm, October through mid-May, and gives students extra one on one time that is not available in a classroom setting.
Every week we collect enough food for 60 weekend meal bags that are distributed to at-risk children at Saratoga Elementary School. You can help by donating food and/or packing bags on Sunday nights.
Items currently accepted for donation: individual packs of crackers, individual oatmeal packets, granola bars, individual pudding cups, fruit cups, ramen noodles, individual Chef Boyardee cups, single-serving cereal boxes, cereal bars, and single serving Easy Mac’n cheese.
